Ocean Dome - world's largest indoor water park !!..

Its the world's largest indoor water park, located at Miyazaki Japan, which is a part of the Sheraton Seagaia Resort, measures 300 meters in length and 100 meters in width, and is listed on the Guinness World Records. It opened in 1993, and visitor numbers peaked in 1995 at 1.25 million a year.

The Ocean Dome sported a fake flame-spitting volcano, artificial sand and the world's largest retractable roof, which provided a permanently blue sky even on a rainy day. The air temperature was always held at around 30 degrees celsius and the water at around 28.

Ocean Dome is bigger than many ocean liners - over 1,000 feet long - and has space for 13,500 tons of salt water and 10,000 people, without the mild inconvenience of real salt water, real crabs, real seaweed or fish.

It was pleasantly warm, but it felt faintly like a gymnasium - and they always remind me of exams. Also, the palm trees were too perfect to be real.

The fruit behind the counter turned out to be plastic, and the backdrop was painted with small clouds and a deep blue sky as the Pacific view outside probably should have been.

See.... how much of work can be done with the technology!!.. even a natural Ocean can be simulated. The Ocean Dome... well done engineers!!.

o LOSE JUST A LITTLE, TO START - Even modest weight reductions - 5% to 10% of your body weight will improve overall health. Shoot for 1/2 or 2 pound loss per week, through a combination of healthy eating, calorie reduction and physical activity.

o LET'S GET PHYSICAL - If you don't work out, you're doubling your risk of heart attack. The best excercises are those that condition your heart and lungs for 30-60 minutes three or four times a week.

HOW TO DO THIS WATER THERAPY?

Early morning, after you get up from bed, (without even brushing your teeth) drink 1.50 litters of water i.e. 5 to 6 glasses. You may wash your face thereafter.

In windows we cant create folders with names CON, PRN, AUX, CLOCK$, NUL, COM1, COM2, COM3, COM4, COM5, COM6, COM7, COM8, COM9, LPT1, LPT2, LPT3, LPT4, LPT5, LPT6, LPT7, LPT8, and LPT9 directly from GUI. This is because, DOS device names are reserved words, and cannot be used as folder or file names.

if you still want to create the folders :..... Goto command prompt by typing cmd in the run menu. Type the following command to create the folders with these names… md \\.\\\con

The path may be like c:\abcd\xyz\… anything Similiarly remove the folder by replacing md with rd No Magic only Logic… UNC(Universal Naming Convention) is the Logic.

According to the Guinness Book of Records, the Cassowaries are the world's most dangerous birds, capable of dealing fatal blows. They are very unpredictable, aggressive creatures, especially if wounded or cornered.

Cassowaries are very large flightless birds native to the tropical forests of New Guinea and northeastern Australia. Normally cassowaries are very shy but when disturbed can lash out dangerously with their powerful legs.

They are capable of inflicting fatal injuries to an adult human. Wounded or cornered birds are particularly dangerous. Cassowaries, deftly using their surroundings to conceal their movements, have been known to out-flank organized groups of human predators.

The Cassowary lives in the rain forests of Australia and New Guinea and are actually pretty shy animals if undisturbed, but if you get to close and it thinks you're a threat you could receive a bone-breaking kick or get sliced by its dagger-like sharp claws.

During WWII, soldiers stationed in New Guinea were warned to stay away from these birds, but some of them still became victims.

The Cassowary is also one of the most difficult animals to keep in the Zoo because of the frequent injuries suffered by Zoo keepers that look after them.

The meat of the cassowary is said to be very strong in taste and to even make some people a bit dizzy the first time they eat it.

Cassowaries are still part of the diet in New Guinea, where they are either hunted or kept as domestic animals, though this is risky as the birds can escape and if it injures or kills anyone in the village family members will expect compensation or a revenge killing.

This bird can take care of itself, but, unfortunately, this doesn't seem to help it very much against human cruelty and it is on the endangered species list, along with so many others.

According to researches, the total population of cassowaries is been rapidly reducing, So it would be our duty to protect them although they are the most dangerous birds on earth, and less dangerous than human :)

The Largest man-made salt water lagoon in the world !!..

Chile has been awarded the Guinness World Record for the largest swimming pool on the planet.
The gigantic lagoon is located in the resort of San Alfonso del Mar in Algarrobo city, on the southern coast of Chile. Guinness Book of World Records has named it the largest pool in the world. How big is it? One over a kilometer long (3,323 feet), covering 20 acres and containing 250,000 cubic meters of water.

The ocean water is too cold most of the year and the pool is kept at a refreshing 79 degrees during the summer.
While there is plenty of room to swim in the pool, visitors can also cruise across the lagoon on small boats.

The pool took five years to build, cost nearly ?llion and the annual maintenance bill will be ?llion. It can harvest, filter and permanently recirculate ocean water by itself.
The man-made saltwater lagoon has been attracting huge crowds to the San Alfonso del Mar resort at Algarrobo since it opened last month.

It is more than 1,000 yards long, covers 20 acres, had a 115ft deep end and holds 66 million gallons of water.

This one took five years to build, cost nearly £ 1billion and the annual maintenance bill will be £ 2million.

Its turquoise waters are so crystal clear that you can see the bottom even in the deep end.

It dwarfs the world's second biggest pool, the Orthlieb - nicknamed the Big Splash - in Morocco , which is a mere 150 yards long and 100 yards wide. An Olympicsize pool measures some 50 yards by 25 yards.

This dinosaur pool uses a computer- controlled suction and filtration system to keep fresh seawater in permanent circulation, drawing it in from the ocean at one end and pumping it out at the other.

The sun warms the water to 26 degree Centigrade, nine degrees warmer than the adjoining sea.

Chilean biochemist Fernando Fischmann, whose Crystal Lagoons Corporation designed the pool, said advanced engineering meant his company could build 'an impressive artificial paradise' even in inhospitable areas.

Myth, folklore, mystery, and intrigue surround the ancient city of Troy like no other ruin on Earth. Once thought to be purely imaginary, a prop in Homer's epic poem The Iliad, excavations in northwestern Turkey in 1871 eventually proved that the city indeed existed.

In 1871, German adventurer Heinrich Schliemann began digging at Hisarlik, Turkey, (shown here) in search of the fabled city. His roughshod excavation wrought havoc on the site, but revealed nine ancient cities, each built on top of the next and dating back some 5,000 years. At the time, most archaeologists were skeptical that Troy was among the ruins, but evidence since the discovery suggests the Trojan capital indeed lies within the site.

Obviously you should be clean and smart in appearance but you should also dress appropriately for the position, for example: a student placement that is more expensively dressed than the Managing Director may have a negative impact.
Clothes should be on the conservative side, which is more acceptable to people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds. After all, you are asking to be accepted into the company. Therefore always avoid extremes in hair, clothes, make-up and jewellery. Taking trouble over your appearance shows the employer that the job is important to you.

It produces no exhaust emissions. The 'sQuba's' filling station is the water reservoir.? It is no surprise that the vehicle features powerful yet energy-saving LED lighting technology. The Earth Simulator (ES) was the fastest supercomputer in the world from 2002 to 2004. The system was developed for NASDA, JAERI, and JAMSTEC in 1997 for running global climate models to evaluate the effects of global warming and problems in solid earth geophysics.

It has been able to run holistic simulations of global climate in both the atmosphere and the oceans down to a resolution of 10 km.

Located at the Earth Simulator Center (ESC) in Kanazawa, Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan, the computer is capable of 35.86 trillion (35,860,000,000,000) floating-point calculations per second, or 35.86 TFLOPS.

Built by NEC, the ES is based on their SX-6 architecture. It consists of 640 nodes with eight vector processors and 16 gibibytes of computer memory at each node, for a total of 5120 processors and 10 tebibytes of memory. Two nodes are installed per 1 metre x 1.4 metre x 2 metre cabinet. Each cabinet consumes 20 kW of power. The system has 700 terabytes of disk storage (450 for the system and 250 for the users) and 1.6 petabytes of mass storage in tape drives. The ES is almost five times faster than ASCI White.

Construction started in October 1999, was completed by February 2002, and the site officially opened on March 11, 2002. The project cost 7.2 billion yen.

Earth Simulator's capacity was surpassed by IBM's Blue Gene/L prototype on September 29, 2004.

The ESC has several special features that help to protect the computer from natural disasters or occurrences. A wire nest hangs over the building which helps to protect from lightning. The nest itself uses high-voltage shielded cables to release lightning current into the ground. A special light propagation system utilizes halogen lamps, installed outside of the shielded machine room walls, to prevent any magnetic interference from reaching the computers. The building is constructed on a seismic isolation system, composed of rubber supports, that protect the building during earthquakes.

The victim's legs were placed between two planks of wood and bound together with cords. Between the cords the torturers placed wedges with which they would violently hammer. Each time a wedge was hammered, an acute portion of the shin bone was shattered. The tormentors could hammer at least a dozen wedges up and down the legs. When the Boots were removed, the bone fragments fell to pieces and the skin of the lower legs merely served as loose sacks for them.

(16.) Water Torture

This is the only non-medieval, European torture on our list. The water torture was a favorite among Japanese POW guards during WWII. The victim was first bound with barbed wire and his mouth stuffed with rags. Next, the guards would snake a tube down the victim's nasal passage and bloat his belly with water. Once that was finished, the guards would kick and beat the poor sap's midsection until his stomach lining burst and and death ensued.

The victims were left in the cage until they died from either the elements or thirst, which could take weeks.

(9.) The Head Crusher

If ever an explanation was in a name, the head crusher is it. Death by head crusher usually went something like this: the teeth imploded into their sockets and smashed the surrounding jaw bones. Then the eyes squirted from their sockets and finally, brain matter squirted from the ears. Unbelievably, many nations still use a version of the head crusher to this very day as an interrogation tool.

(8.) Burning at the Stake

A favorite execution for those accused of witchcaft. Clergy believed that the burning of a witch permanently removed her evil spirits from the physical world, thus eliminating the possibility of any further contamination of innocent souls. Makes sense.

The victim was hoisted above the pyramid and slowly lowered, crotch first, onto its sharpened pinnacle. Hinging on the torturers mood, he could vary the amount of the victim's body weight applied to the point.

(1.) Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a few billion. The 1st of April, the 91st day in each year (92nd in a leap year) has been celebrated, noted and basically reserved for really amusing and funny, hoaxes and particle jokes among the people around the world irrespective of any separations. Although it has not been found an exact reason or a founder for this special day, it has already been really famous by now. The Fool’s day was originally named as “All Fool’s day” and it had begun to appear in the Europe around the late middle ages. “All fool’s day” was basically a flock calibration where the presences of participants were very low. Anyhow this special day has been much-celebrated in some countries and named as a holiday by now.

When considering the origin of this strange festival, there are many numbers of legends and myths associated with. Mainly there are some special Ancient, Medieval, Mythological, traditional stories and roots which are in a form of considerable state. There are some interesting historical explernations about incidents happened on Roman emperor's era regarding the origin of this. But among those, the Calendar-Change theory has been the highly accepted fact that describes the origin of the Fool’s day on April 1st .

In 1582, a new calendar named "Gregorian Calendar” was ordered to be used by “Pope Gregory XIII” replacing the old Julian calendar. France was the very first country which experienced to this Calendar-Change. According to the newest Calendar, the New Year day had been shifted to the January 1st from the end of March where it was on the Julian calendar. But it says that many people did not accept the new date of the New Year and some did not learn about it properly even in order to celebrate it. What is Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS)?

“Computer Vision Syndrome” has been one of the major side effects of using computers and CVS is generally used for the vision related symptoms caused due to spending more than two hours on a computer each day. Headaches, dry or aching or tired or burning eyes, general eyestrain, focusing difficulties, double vision, blurred vision, light sensitivity, neck and shoulder pain are the well-known symptoms of CVS.

Causes

Mainly due to decreasing of the blinking rate of eye while working significant effective number of hours with computer screens leads to this phenomenon for anyone irrespective of the age. According to the Medical confirmations, the normal blinking rate in human eyes is 16-20 per minute. It has shown that the blink rate would be caused to decrease to as low as 6-8 blinks per minute for persons dealing with the computer screens regularly.

Computer monitor makes all the graphics and pictures using a large number of prime elements called “pixels”. The video display terminal (VDT) basically the monitor of the computer totally consists of those pixels and different combinations of them would draw these visible pictures on the VDT. Each pixel is brightest in the center, with the brightness decreasing toward the outer edges. This makes very much difficult to maintain the eye focus on them just because the human focusing system would not well response to those kinds of effects. This is the main reason for tiredness of the naked eye.

This leads to dry eyes and eye- tiredness as near focusing effort would strain on ciliary muscles of the eye frequently. After specific time duration, some would suffer with inability of properly focusing on near objects too which can be seen in people aged around 30-40 yrs , leading to a decrease in the accommodative focusing mechanisms of the eye.

Solutions and Suggestions

Look away from the computer screen to reduce the eye-strain hourly. One of the catch phrases is the "20-20-20 rule"……. every 20 minutes, focus the eyes on an object 20 feet (6 meters) away for 20 seconds. This basically gives a convenient distance & time-frame for a person to follow the advice from the ophthalmologist. Otherwise, the patient is advised to close his eyes (which has a similar effect) for 20 seconds, at least every half hour or even more frequently.

Glare screen filters or anti-reflective coated (AR Coated) lenses of glasses may be helpful for some to control this matter but it will not solve the computer vision problems because they only affect glare from the computer screen.

Proper lighting can reduce eyestrain and glare. Glare is created by glare on walls and other surfaces, reflections from the computer screen, bright light coming in from outside, and bright light inside. To decrease light and reflections from external light, close drapes or blinds. When using computers, lighting should be about half of that used in most offices.

Place your monitor directly in front of you, not off to one side. It should be about 20 to 26 inches away from you. Make sure your monitor is just right for you, not too high and not too low. And keep your arms in parallel to the floor when you type. Finally, maintain good posture at your desk like, keep your back straight and your shoulders back. Adjust the contrast between the background and the characters on the screen by adjusting the brightness on your computer screen.

Nuclear bombs involve the forces, strong and weak, that hold the nucleus of an atom together, especially atoms with unstable nuclei. There are two basic ways that nuclear energy can be released from an atom:

* Nuclear fission - You can split the nucleus of an atom into two smaller fragments with a neutron. This method usually involves isotopes of uranium (uranium-235, uranium-233) or plutonium-239.
* Nuclear fusion -You can bring two smaller atoms, usually hydrogen or hydrogen isotopes (deuterium, tritium), together to form a larger one (helium or helium isotopes); this is how the sun produces energy

In either process, fission or fusion, large amounts of heat energy and radiation are given off.

To build an atomic bomb, you need:

* A source of fissionable or fusionable fuel
* A triggering device
* A way to allow the majority of fuel to fission or fuse before the explosion occurs (otherwise the bomb will fizzle out)

Atomic Structure
Before we talk about the physics of atomic bombs, it’s a good idea to go over the basic properties of atoms.

Atoms are incredibly small — the smallest is about 10-8 cm in diameter. For an idea of how small this really is, think of a baseball. The diameter of a baseball is about 7 cm. If an atom were the size of a baseball, an actual baseball would be about 3044 miles high.

An atom is made up of three subatomic particles — protons, neutrons and electrons. The center of an atom, called the nucleus, is composed of protons and neutrons. Protons are positively charged, neutrons have no charge at all and electrons are negatively charged. The proton-to-electron ratio is always one to one, so the atom as a whole has a neutral charge. For example, a carbon atom has six protons and six electrons.

An atom’s properties can change considerably based on how many of each particle it has:

* The number of protons in an atom determines the type of element. Elements are classified by their atomic number, which is simply the number of protons in an atom’s nucleus. Some common elements on Earth are oxygen, carbon and hydrogen. You can see the elements on the periodic table here.
* There are different types of atoms called isotopes. These isotopes look and act the same in nature — the only difference is the number of neutrons in the nucleus.
* You can calculate the “mass” of an atom by counting the number of protons and neutrons inside the nucleus. This number is called the atomic mass. Carbon has three isotopes, for example — carbon-12 (six protons + six neutrons), carbon-13 (six protons + seven neutrons) and carbon-14 (six protons + eight neutrons).

Finally, a Portuguese designer, André Costa, won the competition with his project called “Moovie”, designed to function as an "agile and environmentally friendly city car".

Blood acts as the transportation medium of the body letting out a systematic way for the activeness of elements, by means of deliveries and pickups. As blood circulates throughout the body, it delivers oxygen and nutrients to all the places they’re needed. * Platelets are cell fragments that clot, which helps to prevent and control bleeding. They are about 5% of our blood.
* Plasma is a yellowish mixture of water, proteins, electrolytes, carbohydrates, cholesterol, hormones, and vitamins. About 55% of our blood is plasma.

From the perspective we get on Earth, our planet appears to be big and sturdy with an endless ocean of air. From space, astronauts often get the impression that the Earth is small with a thin, fragile layer of atmosphere. For a space traveler, the distinguishing Earth features are the blue waters, brown and green land masses and white clouds set against a black background.

Many dream of traveling in space and viewing the wonders of the universe. In reality all of us are space travelers. Our spaceship is the planet Earth, traveling at the speed of 108,000 kilometers (67,000 miles) an hour.

Earth is the 3rd planet from the Sun at a distance of about 150 million kilometers (93.2 million miles). It takes 365.256 days for the Earth to travel around the Sun and 23.9345 hours for the Earth rotate a complete revolution. It has a diameter of 12,756 kilometers (7,973 miles), only a few hundred kilometers larger than that of Venus. Our atmosphere is composed of 78 percent nitrogen, 21 percent oxygen and 1 percent other constituents.

Earth is the only planet in the solar system known to harbor life. Our planet's rapid spin and molten nickel-iron core give rise to an extensive magnetic field, which, along with the atmosphere, shields us from nearly all of the harmful radiation coming from the Sun and other stars. Earth's atmosphere protects us from meteors, most of which burn up before they can strike the surface.

From our journeys into space, we have learned much about our home planet. The first American satellite, Explorer 1, discovered an intense radiation zone, now called the Van Allen radiation belts. This layer is formed from rapidly moving charged particles that are trapped by the Earth's magnetic field in a doughnut-shaped region surrounding the equator. Other findings from satellites show that our planet's magnetic field is distorted into a tear-drop shape by the solar wind. We also now know that our wispy upper atmosphere, once believed calm and uneventful, seethes with activity -- swelling by day and contracting by night. Affected by changes in solar activity, the upper atmosphere contributes to weather and climate on Earth.

Besides affecting Earth's weather, solar activity gives rise to a dramatic visual phenomenon in our atmosphere. When charged particles from the solar wind become trapped in Earth's magnetic field, they collide with air molecules above our planet's magnetic poles. These air molecules then begin to glow and are known as the auroras or the northern and southern lights.

Tectonic plates

According to plate tectonics theory, the outermost part of the Earth's interior is made up of two layers: the lithosphere, comprising the crust, and the solidified uppermost part of the mantle. Below the lithosphere lies the asthenosphere, which forms the inner part of the mantle. The asthenosphere behaves like a superheated and extremely viscous liquid.

The lithosphere essentially floats on the asthenosphere and is broken up into what are called tectonic plates. These plates are rigid segments that move in relation to one another at one of three types of plate boundaries: convergent, divergent and transform. The last occurs where two plates move laterally relative to each other, creating a strike-slip fault. Earthquakes, volcanic activity, mountain-building, and oceanic trench formation can occur along these plate boundaries.
